We are using currently using FANUC OiMc control system for our Horizontal Machining Centre. The Spindle runs for a few seconds and after oscillation, the motor trips and spindle stops. At times there is no alarm showing and at times there is a particular Alarm 1039 which says Spindle load limit exit. What can be the reason and how should we sort it out.

THERE IS ALWAYS RISK INVOLVED WHEN "SWAPPING PARTS" TO ISOLATE FAILURES. Most likely this is caused by failed drive. It could be some other things, but the problem is the drive is not able to provide enough current to properly run the spindle. If it were another issue you would not likely get the oscillation. Other less likely problems could be: motor, motor cable, encoder, encoder cable, software. If possible easiest way to prove is to check the drive yourself. Not likely you are equipped to do so. Next best is swap if another good drive is available either in the machine or another machine or shelf whatever. There is always risk when swapping parts. But that risk is minimal if proper troubleshooting has led you to consider that. Were it me and I had another drive available, I'd swap it out. |

If it sat then it is probably a contamination issue. Althoug you did not specify in the original post I assume the machine is otherwise OK, it boots up fine etc? So this is not a spindle orientation procedure we are talking about? You mentioned something being new? Tell us what was new, if it was not the entire machine, explain in a little more detail, this is important. I do know of a decent repair house if you want to send it out and have it checked. When I was working as service manager for Fanuc machines we just sent the drives into them which is also an option to have it checked, although it is more expensive it is not any better as far as warranty. |

I hade this same problem on a Matsuura HMC last thing I checked was the spindle motor. See if you can find a megger and check motor. If you get one then we can explain how to check you must know how or many problems can occur.
