We have Machining Center KASUGA Model MRK-55 with FANUC 18M Control and we got alarm 910 parity problem, we push Reset and Delete key to perform memory all clear. We put all data again but after switch the power OFF and ON we got this alarm again. The Memory Back-Up Battery is good and holds voltage. Could the Power supply be faulty ? (A16B-1212-0471/03A) or something else. Could anyone suggest a company that could take a look at it and any ideas on how much this could cost? Thanks Wes |

It could be your SRAM module, It could be the battery but you should see a BAT on the display. Or yes it could be your power supply. It could also be as Petro has already stated the data that you are entering. You can get the alarm to clear by clearing the memory in the machine but it comes back after you reload the data. Are you reloading the programs?? Try reloading only what you need to run the control (no programs). See if the alarm is there. If not then load your programs. If the alarm appears then you have an issue with your program memory. Stevo (The opinions in this post are my own and not those of machinetoolhelp.com and its management) |

Thank you for your help and recomendation. When the alarm occured the first time, I did the "reset & delete" a couple times. I even imput all the parameters and the machine turned to normal. But as soon as I turned it off, and restarted, I received the same 910 error message. According to the Fanuc Manual there could be 3 issues: 1) Ram Module Faulty (reseting could help or replace) 2) Battery Low (Checked the battery and have more than 3V, we also don't get any BATTERY warning lights/signals on the display. 3) Power Supply (replace if faulty) What leads me to believe thats its a faulty power supply is that the display screen has shown some unusual behaviours: - sometimes it takes several tries of "on/off" for the display to light up - the display dims and grays-out sometimes as you scroll and use it Also, I've removed the battery while the machine was on and we didn't get a Battery Error message so I'm not sure if that is because of a faulty battery or power supply recognition issues. Thanks again for your tips! |

I would think you are safe to ass u me that it is the power supply. If the CRT is having issues powering up and you have to do it several times to get it to finally work this has been a PS issue every time that I have had this problem. Well maybe 1 time the CRT had to be replaced. The PS may only fix your CRT issue and leave the same problem of the Parity error. Hello, I got Power Supply out of another machine and we installed it last night. I put back all of the parameters by hand to ensure that they were accurate. After that we got a couple new alarms: 1003 417(x) 417(y) 417(z) 750 (AL-34) According to the (Fanuc Control 18M) manual this is a parameters problem. I checked and double checked all of them and they are the same as I have in the book: Par 1010 Axis 3 Par 1023 1 2 3 Par 2020 Motor Id 18 18 27 Par 2022 Direct -111 -111 111 Par 2023 Polo 8192 8192 8192 Par 2024 PPLS 12500 12500 12500 Par 2084 SDMR1 1 1 1 Par 2085 SDMR2 100 100 125 Now I'm not sure if I'm dealing with more electonic issues or programming. Any suggestion Thanks again for all your help!!! |

Wes, Best guess is the parameters are not correct. I know that you said you checked them twice and you entered them in by hand to make sure they are set correct but entering them in by hand is how I have had problems 99% of the time. You should have an electronic copy of your parameters yes?? If so make sure your communication parameters are set up and then load them via RS232 or card, which ever your machine has. The alarms are for motor types etc. You did not change motors so you should not have to change parameters. Hello, Untunately I did not get a stick with the machine nor did I have a change to get an electronic copy onto the computer before all this happened. We just got this machine not to long ago and I was still playing around with it learning the functionalities, when one day I turned it on and came upon the original 910 error. Thanks for the support! |
