Default Reset Hamai milling center tool changer

Hi we have a hamai MC-3VA with a Fanuc OM series controller, a new operator hit the estop during a tool change and has hung the machine. We do not have the maintenance manual since it was a used machine and are wondering how to enter maintentence mode and what m codes can we use to reset the tool changer..any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not sure for that machine off hand but to get by for now you could find the ATC motor and rotate the fan blade or look for a shaft to turn or something that the builder may have put somewhere to rotate it manually.

Hi our tool changer arm drops down vertically and then rotates 180 degrees to switch the tools from the spindle to the tool pot. The problem we are having since the operator hit the estop is the arm will not retract it simply hangs down no matter what we do. In atc mode we can perform all other operations except retract the arm. Thanks

are all conditions met for a tool change? door open, pot down, spindle orient, axis in tool change position, etc. usually these conditions have to be met before your tool arm will be allowed to do a tool change move.
