Default Milltronics L14

Does anyone know of a repair person in the Chicago area that knows Milltronic lathes? The parameters were changed and the machine homed beyond the home position and hit the travel limit switch. The parameters were changed because of a 201 error. The program was okay.

Call Milltronics tech support(888-999-1440). They should have the machines original parameter list on file and they can help you get it off the otl switch.

Which parameters? probably a gridshift value I assume. Not sure how to take off of switch by control wise off hand. But you could pull back a way cover and rotate the screw by hand and change the grid shift value again and re-home. If the axis does not decel when homing your switch is probably bad.

I am assuming that the Z axis homed all the way to the tailstock side? If you are stuck on a limit, you will have to complete the following:
Open the machine parameters by pressing F7(PARMS), F1(SETUP), F1(LEVEL), type in the vaildation code which is PROTO3, press enter. The access level is 3. Then escape to the MAIN menu.
Press and hold the reset button. Do no release the button until you are certain you are off the limit switch. After pressing and holding the button, (you should hear the drives turn on) press the F1(HOME) and then the F10(HERE). Cycle start should then be pressed. Then use hdw or jog and move the axis towards the headstock until you are off the limit. Done.

When homing a Milltronics lathe be certain that you are on the correct side of the home switch. The switch is positioned many time halfway in the travel. You must home the Z axis on the left side of the switch or you the Z axis will try and home itself and collide with the tailstock or hit the positive limit.

Milltronics has the complete list of machine parameters readily available if needed.
