A new entry has been added to File Sharing and Downloads Manager Description: The Rigidity of the tool on a VMC is mainly determined by the clamping force of the spindle Drawbar...This procedure helps to inspect a drawbar on a Haas VMC - Model VF1 and VF4 (must be same for VF2 and Vf3 also I guess) To check it out, rate it or add comments, visit Haas VF1/VF4 VMC - Drawbar Inspection Procedure The comments you make there will appear in the posts below. |

The rigidity of the tool is NOT determined by the force of the drawbar, but by the amount of surface contact between the OD taper of the tool holder and the ID taper of the spindle. The main function of the draw bar is to provide enough force to fully seat the holder into the taper.
